With 25 years’ experience as a lawyer Michael Dalton is outcome driven and known for his attention to detail. Michael was called to the bar in 2010, following a 15-year career as a solicitor practicing in both civil and criminal law. Since 2003 he has practiced primarily in criminal law.
Michael has extensive experience in both prosecution and defence having worked as a prosecutor in both England and Australia (Commonwealth DPP), before joining the private bar in Cairns in 2012. Michael holds an appointments to the Legal Aid Complex Criminal Case, Commonwealth DPP, Qld DPP and the Whole of Government Legal Services Panel barrister panels.
In addition to accepting briefs in crime, Michael also practices in the areas of domestic violence, inquests and enquires and regulatory prosecutions (both prosecution and defence) with a particular interest in maritime matters.
